Manager
Every manager must be registered in RAMP for Softball and Spordle for Baseball as a staff member. If you are not registered then you will not be allowed on the bench. Each team will consist of one coach, one assistant coach and one manager. There will be at least one person the same gender as the team.
Role Purpose
To support team operations by managing communication, schedules, administration, and coordination between coaches, players, parents, and the association—ensuring a smooth and organized season for the entire team.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary Communication Lead for the Team
- Relay all information from VMBA, Directors, and Coaches
- Maintain team communication through email, or team chat
- Provide updates on schedules, changes, events, and expectations
- Support Coaches with Team Administration
- Help organize practices and game logistics
- Assist with equipment pick-up, returns, and jersey distribution (when applicable)
- Track player attendance if requested by coach
- Coordinate Game Day Requirements
- Confirm game times, locations, diamond numbers, and arrival times
- Create a schedule of diamond prep duties for home games ** New for 2026**
- Coordinate scorekeepers, pitch counters, or field helpers as required
- Ensure team follows VMBA and Softball Alberta/ Baseball Alberta guidelines
- Work With Volunteer Coordinator
- Share all volunteer sign-up information with families
- Remind families of their mandatory volunteer hours (4 hours per family)
- Help fill team-specific volunteer roles when possible
- Tournament Coordination (Team-Level)
- Assist with registering for tournaments (if the team is attending outside events)
- Communicate tournament schedules, rules, and expectations
- Support Tournament Coordinator when VMBA is hosting
