Affiliation Policy
If a player registered with Vermilion Minor Baseball or Softball also wants to register with a neighboring association for the purpose of playing in a higher level, for example if a player wants to play B,A or AA ball in a surrounding community, the following recommendations are made.
- The recieving association's policy must be adhered to.
- Vermilion Minor Ball must receive the request in writing for our records.
- Information will likely have to be released to receiving association for insurance purposes.
Vermilion Minor Ball does make the following requests.
- We ask that everything be done that the registered Vermilion Minor Ball player be available to compete for Vermilion in our Annual Brian Poon tournament.
- The Vermilion Minor Ball Player makes every effort to participate in all of the Vermilions tournaments and game commitments.
Player Movement Policy
The provision that allows a Vermilion Minor ball player to “play up” is intended to recognize the rare circumstances where a player demonstrates exceptional ability, attitude, skill level and or size. The player must be able to demonstrate a clear ability to play at a higher age group, as well as be considered a positive addition to the team.
Policy
- Requests for player movement will not be accepted from parents of the affected player.
- A player must first be registered with the team in his or her own age group.
- Requests for player movement can only be requested by the coaches of the applicable teams, and players may only move up one age level. The coach must be prepared to support his or her requests with reasons consistent with player and team development.
- Players who unsuccessfully tryout for positions in their age group will not be permitted to tryout for teams in a higher age group.
- There will be a minimum of two underage players on a team unless it is approved by the Executive.
- In circumstances where a minor ball team in a particular age group does not exist, then players will be permitted to tryout for the next age group.
- I f it is decided that a player can move up, a player release form must be filled out and signed by the coaches of both teams and forwarded to the president of the league.
Refund Policy
There are no refund registration fees unless:
An athlete can no longer play ball due to circumstances beyond his control, Vermilion minor Ball has the authority to refund the athletes registration on a prorated amount. This Does not include injuries or an athlete changing their mind after registration.
